One thing we didn't do often enough last winter was sledding. Sarah was a good sport and slid down the banks in our yard onto the driveway or into the cul-de-sac and didn't ask for much more than a pull or two around the yard all season. Barnesville has a great big man-made snow hill by Blue Eagle Lake, and I never considered taking the girls there until this year.
On a day that seemed nice and calm on our end of town, we suited up and headed out. We'd had a good snowfall and there was plenty of snow on the snowhill, and you could tell it had had plenty of traffic before we showed up, although there was no one there then. Unfortunately, it's even more open out there than it was at home, and since the snow started falling, it's been nothing but ridiculously cold out, so we only lasted about 10 minutes. Of course, 10 minutes is plenty of time for Erin to snap some pictures.
Afterwards, we went to the car wash. The van had gotten horribly dirty, and since I insulated the garage this summer, it keeps it just above freezing (until recently), so the van could dry off once we got home. It was a short but fun trip out of the house on a cold day.
