It's been most of a week and I haven't gotten around to blogging about the trip. Getting back to reality on Monday took a little more effort than I thought it would. Rather than put it off any longer, I'll just post a bare bones run down of the rest of our trip, and then get to what you all come here for, the photos!
Our first excursion was at Nassau. There is an Atlantis casino resort on the island, and their big draw (this time around anyway) was their dolphin experience. It seemed like a good idea when we signed up, and it was, but the girls were a little intimidated. I'll admit to being a little nervous once we got in the water, as the dolphin we got to interact with was a lot bigger than he looked on my computer screen. We have a family picture with the dolphin, but we have to scan it. Bug me and Erin and it will get done.
Atlantis also has a good size aquarium, so we spent a lot of time wandering around looking at all the different fish. It was a good way to spend the day. They also have a couple of beaches and a good size water park, so we've already got a good idea of where our next vacation might be!
Our next excursion was at Disney's private island, Castaway Cay. It was crazy. Even after all our planning, I forgot how much there was to do on the island, so we ended up not doing a lot of things I had planned, but we still managed to pack in a full day off the ship. I went snorkeling on one part of the beach while the girls played in the sand. I managed to talk Sarah into trying it out, and she loved it until she found out there were actually fish in the water with us! It was still a good time. Erin and I also took a paddleboat out with the girls. They were not thrilled about it, which was kind of funny. Sarah could have stood up in most places we paddled. If we get an opportunity do to this kind of trip again, we'll try to do an extra day on the island.
Our last day of the trip was spent at sea. We finally started to wander around the ship and figure out where things were. They have a scavenger hunt set up that takes you from floor 2 to floor 10 from the front of the ship to the back, which we should have done the first day. It was Sarah's favorite activity. I even let her do it once by herself! Erin was not thrilled. And Grace wanted to spend the day at the Oceaneer's club, which is just for kids. It turns out Erin and I had a lot more free time than we expected. It was a good time to sit out on our deck and catch up on some reading.
That's mostly it! We'll try to get a couple more pictures up, but these are some of the highlights.
